Hausgeld
The monthly payment from a flat owner to the owners' association (WEG).
Hausgeld is what an owner of a flat in a condominium pays each month to the Wohnungseigentümergemeinschaft (WEG). It funds the building's running costs — heating, water, insurance, caretaker, management fee — plus the contribution to the Erhaltungsrücklage. Hausgeld is not a single tax line. The running-cost part is deductible in the year paid; the reserve contribution is not deductible until the WEG actually spends it on maintenance. The yearly Jahresabrechnung under §28 WEG is the document that splits the amounts, usually with a column for costs that can be passed on to the tenant. Use it rather than your bank transfers alone, and keep the tenant's operating-cost advances on the income side.
